What personal data Technocrat collects, who processes it for us, how long we keep it, and how to see, change or delete it. This policy covers our website, our store and the ways you contact us.
Who we are
Technocrat Nigeria runs this website and the store at No 17, Kodesho Street, Ikeja, Lagos. We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us its data controller under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
For anything in this policy, email info@technocratng.com or call 0812 436 2413, 0901 121 5084, 0907 060 4655 or 0901 145 5223.
What we collect
What you give us
- Your phone number and delivery addresses.
- Your orders and pre-order requests.
- Bank transfer receipts you upload to show you have paid.
- Messages you send us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp.
From Google and Miden
You sign in with Google, and Google sends us your name, email address and profile photo. When you pay online, you enter your payment details on Miden's page, not ours. Miden tells us the payment reference, the amount and whether it succeeded. We never see your card number, PIN or one-time passcode.
Collected automatically
- Your IP address and browser details, which our servers log when you load a page.
- Page visits and page speed, counted by Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights without cookies and without identifying you.
- Cookies and local storage that keep you signed in and hold your cart, listed in our cookie policy.
Why we use it
The law asks us to name a legal basis for each use. Ours are:
- Running your account, confirming payment, delivering your order, and handling returns, refunds and warranty claims. Basis: our contract with you.
- Answering your messages. Basis: our contract with you, or our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us.
- Keeping tax, accounting and payment records. Basis: a legal obligation.
- Checking receipts, preventing fraud, keeping the site secure and seeing which pages are slow. Basis: our legitimate interest.
We send order updates by email and in your account. We only send marketing if you agree to it, and every marketing message lets you stop them.
Data outside Nigeria
Google, Vercel, Resend and Meta process data outside Nigeria, mainly in the United States and the European Union. We rely on their data processing terms, which bind them to protect the data, and on the other grounds the Nigeria Data Protection Act allows, such as a transfer needed to perform our contract with you.
How long we keep it
- Account details and addresses: while your account is open. We delete them within 30 days of a deletion request.
- Orders, payments, invoices and receipts: 6 years after the order, because Nigerian tax law requires it.
- Messages: with your account, and deleted with it, unless they are part of an open complaint or dispute.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you the personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy you can take elsewhere.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your data, or stop or limit a particular use of it.
- Have a person, not an automated process, review any decision that affects you.
Email info@technocratng.com from the address on your account. We may ask you to confirm who you are, and we reply within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Deleting your account
Email info@technocratng.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We confirm the request, then delete or anonymise your account details, addresses and messages within 30 days.
We keep the order, payment and invoice records that tax law requires for 6 years. They are no longer linked to an account anyone can sign in to.
Children
The store is for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, the age the Nigeria Data Protection Act uses for a child, without a parent or guardian's consent. If you think a child has given us their data, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
Every page loads over HTTPS. Sign-in cookies can't be read by scripts running on the page. Staff reach customer data only through our admin system, each with their own account and role.
We never ask for your card PIN, password or one-time passcode by phone, email or WhatsApp. If a breach puts your data at risk, we report it to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within 72 hours and tell you if it is likely to harm you.
Changes to this policy
We post changes here and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you already gave us, we tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect. The terms you agree to when you order are in our purchase and customer policies.
